Thanks to the recent increase in air pollution level, everyone is looking to get an air purifier. But there are many options to choose from. So the question has to be asked, which is the best air purifier in India?

In this article, we are going to compare some of the best air purifiers available in the Indian market and see which is best suited for you.

While all of these air purifier exists, many people ask this question. Does this air purifiers actually work?

What we have experienced so far after using most of the air purifiers available in the market, you can’t rely on the sensors on these air purifiers.

Before we jump into the list of the best air purifiers, let’s have a look at the things you should consider before buying an air purifier.

First, of course, is the HEPA filter. We highly recommend looking for a true HEPA filter, not just the HEPA filter. HEPA or the High-Efficiency Particulate is a type of mechanical air filter that works by forcing air through a fine mesh that traps harmful particles such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites, and tobacco smoke.

Second is the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate). Higher is the CADR, more room it will be able to clean effectively. CADR lets you identify how quickly the air purifier functions by calculating the cubic feet of air the purifier can filter in one minute.

The third is the noise level. Most of these air purifiers make a lot of noise at high fan speed.

Now that we know what to expect from an air purifier lets jump into the list.

 1  Xiaomi Air Purifier 3

The Mi Air Purifiers 3 is quite unique with 360-degree air intake, the Mi app support, laser particle sensor and LED display and for the sole purpose of air purification, comes with a true HEPA filter.

The new Mi Air Purifier 3 has a 22% improved performance from the company’s previous air purifiers.

The true HEPA filter in the Xiaomi Air Purifier 3 eliminates 99.7% of pollutants. A 3 layer composite filtration lying with activated carbon effectively removes pollutants, PM 2.5, Odor and harmful bacteria.

The Mi Air Purifier 3 works with voice assistants like Google Assistant and Alexa and easily connects with the Mi Home App that monitors the air quality in your home, whenever, wherever.

One negative thing about the Xiaomi Air Purifier 3 is the cable that you get is too short. It’s around 1 meter, and we kind of wish it was maybe double in length. However, it can be the best air purifier in India under Rs. 10,000 budget.

 2  Philips AC2887

The Philips AC2887 looks futuristic with the robotic design with sensors on the top. The top also accommodates touch controls to power it on and change the fan speed.

On the front it has three separate layers of filter, that is pre-filter for hair and Pollin, a carbon filter for harmful gases and HEPA filter for PM 2.5 pollutant.

The Philips AC2887 air purifier is faster to clean a decent-sized room than the Mi Air 3 and brings down the PM 2.5 level below 50.

Philips also has the true HEPA filter, which gives you the efficiency of 99.7% while all the other filters give you the efficiency of 97%. This three per cent gap might not look huge, but is responsible for bringing down the pollution below 50.

 3  Honeywell HAC25M1201W

The Honeywell HAC25M1201W air purifier looks a lot similar to Philips. Just like the Philips air purifier, it comes with a touch display on the top with fan control and everything, but this one doesn’t have a real-time air pollution display.

Much like Philips, it also has a filter in different with the magnetic snap. However, it does combine the carbon and the HEPA filter in one. Not that it makes a difference though.

In our testing, the Honeywell performed quite well but struggled to bring the PM 2.5 below 50.

All of these air purifiers are loud in their full speed, but faster it can bring down the pollution, sooner you will be able to put it in low fan speed, which is less noisy.

The Honeywell HAC25M1201W air purifier comes with a HEPA filter, but it’s not the true HEPA filter. This might be the reason why the pollution level never came below 50.
